Cat Exams in Hugo It’s impossible to talk about your pet’s health without mentioning wellness. Wellness care is a composite of various treatments and services that we offer here at P.A.W.S. Pet Hospital in Hugo. From pet wellness exams to parasite prevention, we cover all the bases to keep your pet happy and going strong. Wellness is more than a concept; it’s a lifelong dedication to good health and beneficial habits. Whether your pet is a new addition to the family or a longtime companion, we’ll make sure they’re on the right track.

Pet Wellness Exams

The wellness exam begins with a thorough head-to-toe examination. Our veterinarians also examine the ears, eyes, and anal glands for abnormalities, and determine a baseline for your pet’s health. We’ll administer the appropriate vaccines as needed, check stool for internal parasites, and run a heartworm test. The wellness exam is also an opportune time to ask questions and raise concerns about conditions or behaviors you’ve witnessed at home. We can’t see how your pet is doing all the time, so we rely on your observations, which will be duly noted in your pet’s health chart.

Wellness Care Services

The wellness services we offer here at our animal hospital in Hugo are designed to see your pet from one life stage to the next, and can be easily amended according to their current needs. Our goal is to be a trusted partner in keeping your loved one as healthy as possible through every year of their life. Along with pet wellness exams, our services include:

Puppy & Kitten Exams

All newly-adopted puppies and kittens should be brought to our office with a fresh stool sample as early as possible for their first checkup. Your veterinarian will also discuss planning for your pet’s spay or neuter surgery, which ideally should take place between 6 and 7 months of age.
