Laser Therapy
We all experience physical conditions throughout the course of our lives that cause considerable amounts of discomfort. The same goes for our pets! Despite being a different species, they also suffer from arthritis, skin rashes, gingivitis, and other ailments with which humans are familiar. That’s why we’re pleased to offer pet laser therapy services at our pet hospital in Hugo. With it, we provide our four-legged patients with much-needed relief.
Pet laser therapy has been proven effective in healing and pain management. Our therapeutic laser uses varying wavelengths of light to penetrate soft tissue and repair damaged cells, producing a healing effect. Additionally, laser therapy is completely non-invasive, drug-free, and painless, and only takes 3-8 minutes per session.
Conditions We Can Treat with Pet Laser Therapy:
There are very few health conditions that our therapeutic laser cannot improve. Common conditions we treat here in Hugo include:
- Arthritis
- Ear infections
- Hot spots
- Lick granulomas
- Degenerative joint and disc diseases
- Bone fractures
- Wounds
- Inflammation
- Gingivitis
- Hip dysplasia
- Infections
- …and more
We also use our therapeutic laser to treat pets following spay and neuter surgeries and dental procedures to reduce pain and swelling and speed up the healing process.
What You Should Expect:
No two pet laser therapy treatments are exactly the same. The dose of light your pet receives during their treatment depends on their condition, the color of their coat and skin, their size, and their age. The number of treatment sessions also varies from one patient to the next and depends on how well they respond. Aside from its many health benefits, our therapeutic laser also creates a warming sensation on contact which many pets find soothing.
Before starting laser therapy treatment, we need to examine your pet so we can fully evaluate their condition and check for other potential problems. Once we perform the exam and fully assess what areas need treatment, we can schedule your pet’s laser therapy sessions.
Laser therapy alone is not always the sole solution to a problem; some pets respond best to different treatments implemented in conjunction. If you’re interested in pet laser therapy as a treatment option for your animal companion, let us know, and we’ll be glad to help.
